  • Whilst every effort will be made to accommodate participants on their preferred date, we cannot guarantee the first choice of date will be available. Please do not make any travel arrangements prior to confirming a date for your experience. Edinburgh Zoo will not be responsible for any changes to travel that are required if dates are unavailable.
  • Regrettably, certain guests will be unable to participate in Keeper Experiences including: people with any relevant phobias or known allergies; pregnant women; and immunocompromised individuals.
  • Whilst every effort will be made to accommodate those with a disability or learning difficulty, due to practicality and health and safety this may not always be possible. Please contact Edinburgh Zoo for advice prior to booking.
  • Edinburgh Zoo reserves the right to reschedule any of the booked Keeper Experience dates and/or times. Edinburgh Zoo will give as much notice as possible; however this cannot always be guaranteed. If Edinburgh Zoo cancels your experience so that no other dates can be offered, a full refund will be issued to the purchaser.
  • Keeper Experiences and Magic Moments are non-refundable unless due to exceptional circumstances (illness/injury, pregnancy or bereavement). This will be at Edinburgh Zoo's discretion.
  • Edinburgh Zoo reserves the right to alter the experience on any given day due to animal welfare or health issues or a change in the Zoo's collection, but Edinburgh Zoo will ensure that if this is the case then the activity will be replaced with another similar experience.
  • The weather should not affect the experience, although the itinerary may be changed if conditions are unsuitable for any aspect of the experience. In the case of severe weather the experience may be rescheduled for another date. Edinburgh Zoo will endeavour to provide as much notice as possible but please be aware that cancellations may occur on the day of the experience for reasons beyond Edinburgh Zoo's control.
  • Edinburgh Zoo reserves the right to cancel your experience if you arrive at the meeting point more than 10 minutes after your pre-booked experience time; unfortunately your experience will not be rescheduled or refunded.
  • We will not be able to reschedule your experience if you cancel up to 14 days before the booked date.
  • Any accompanying guests with the Keeper Experience participant pay normal Zoo admission and are only able to observe. Only the Keeper Experience participant is able to enter enclosures and areas off limits to normal Zoo visitors. Any under 16s participating in Keeper Experiences must be accompanied by an observing adult paying adult admission cost (with the exception of Junior and Mini Keeper Experiences which includes one adult entry in the price).
  • Health and Safety: The Keeper Experiences are subject to several health and safety restrictions. It is the purchaser's responsibility to check these prior to purchase and to ensure that the participant fits these criteria and have agreed to all terms and conditions.

       - All Keeper Experience participants must wear wellington boots

       - Any sickness of the visitor experience participant must be disclosed to the animal department staff at the start of the experience
